Case Study: IVG Hospitals achieves near-zero user downtime and 75% reduction in PC support with Citrix XenClient

A Citrix Case Study

IVG Hospitals deliver uninterrupted care with local virtual desktops

IVG Hospitals, a veterinary care network founded in 1979 with three locations in Massachusetts and one in New Hampshire, needed to ensure consistent, around‑the‑clock productivity across distributed sites. Despite investments in servers, networks and a datacenter, front‑line PC performance, support costs and exposure to malware and corruption became the organization’s biggest strategic challenge.

Working with Citrix partner Technium, IVG deployed local virtual desktops using Citrix XenClient for fast WAN performance, centralized management and full-disk encryption—at under one‑tenth the cost of competing approaches. The rollout cut user downtime to nearly zero through tested “golden” images and remote recovery, reduced PC support and administration by about 75%, sped new-hospital deployments, and enabled centralized provisioning and power‑saving policies to support growth and green initiatives.
