Sofor Oy is a Finnish IT service provider with a Citrix XenServer–based data center that delivers hosted Windows, Linux and Citrix XenApp desktops to customers in manufacturing, construction and the public sector. Facing sophisticated, persistent attacks, Sofor found traditional in-guest security agents created heavy management overhead, required outages for updates, and caused performance and scalability issues—while purported agentless options still relied on in-guest components.

Sofor implemented the Citrix and Bitdefender Hypervisor Introspection (HVI) solution, which performs agentless raw-memory inspection at the hypervisor level. This simplified administration, eliminated VM-agent contention and downtime, improved performance and scalability, and enabled detection, prevention and remediation of malware, viruses and rootkits—strengthening protection for Sofor’s mission-critical data center and becoming a competitive differentiator for its managed services.
