Ignite Restaurant Group Closes Security Gaps Resulting from Expanding BYOD

Ignite Restaurant Group, owner of Joe’s Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern + Tap, faced a surge in employee-owned iOS and Android devices that exposed security gaps in its Exchange-based environment. IT lacked visibility into who was connecting to mail servers, any employee could configure email access, Exchange couldn’t selectively remove corporate data or push policies, and rapid BYOD growth created compliance risks across multiple restaurant locations.

After evaluating leading MDM vendors, Ignite deployed Citrix XenMobile MDM on-premises for an initial 400 BYOD users with the option to move to the cloud later. XenMobile provided cross-platform device lifecycle management, simple provisioning and self-enrollment, selective corporate data wipe and policy enforcement—giving IT the visibility and control to track and manage devices, push corporate policies, secure mobile access, and minimize user disruption while preparing to block noncompliant devices.
