A Citrix Case Study
Helsingborg Port, Sweden’s second-largest container port handling roughly 300,000 containers and 7 million tons of freight a year, set out to become the country’s most efficient and profitable port by 2030. Chronic IT issues and manual, paper-based processes were slowing truck and ship turnaround times, causing logging errors and revenue loss, and creating security and compliance challenges.
Working with Citrix and Platinum Solution Advisor AcelQ, the port implemented a hybrid cloud and deployed ShareFile, XenMobile, XenApp/XenDesktop and NetScaler to digitize workflows, enable secure mobile access, and speed application performance. The changes eliminated quayside paperwork, cut average truck turnaround from about an hour to 23 minutes, reduced logon times from 3–4 minutes to 30 seconds, tightened access controls—and materially increased freight throughput and business for the port and its customers.
