Healthcare nonprofit speeds clinician access to critical information with Citrix solution

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) is a nonprofit Catholic health system in Louisiana serving nearly half the state through hospitals, clinics and physicians. Facing rapid growth, government mandates for EMR and CPOE, device proliferation and BYOD requests, FMOLHS needed to improve clinician productivity, tighten HIPAA security and reduce IT costs while supporting hundreds of clinical applications and thousands of users.

FMOLHS deployed a Citrix-based mobile workspace (XenDesktop/XenApp, XenMobile, ShareFile and NetScaler) with Imprivata two-factor badge/PIN and zero‑client endpoints to deliver fast, secure access. The solution yields sub-five-second logins to 130 clinical apps (including Cerner and Epic), secure roaming across devices, BYOD in under two weeks, a $750,000 annual savings from faster record access, dramatically reduced desktop management effort and lower breach risk.
