Global restaurateur boosts application performance with Citrix CloudBridge

HMSHost, a global restaurateur operating more than 300 brands across 100+ airports and 99 motorways with a 30,000-strong distributed workforce, needed consistently fast front-end performance for critical applications (POS, voice, data) that are processed in three datacenters. A prior WAN optimization rollout was limited by cost and scalability, covering only about 40 larger locations and leaving the majority of sites without adequate acceleration.

Working with Citrix, HMSHost deployed CloudBridge appliances to more than 220 locations, cutting data transmission for its POS application by over 90% and delivering transaction speed improvements of roughly 10–20%. The pay-as-you-grow licensing enabled rapid, organization-wide rollout (a 90-day deployment across 14 countries), extended optimization to hundreds more sites, and even supported new capabilities like zero-packet-loss video broadcasts.
