Equinox Energy powers up branch application access with Citrix Branch Repeater

Equinox Energy, an end-to-end service provider to the oil and gas industry with offices in Perth and Singapore and staff worldwide, needed fast, reliable access to demanding 3D modeling and collaboration applications while maintaining centralized IT control from its Perth datacentre. Branch sites were struggling to run resource‑intensive applications over the WAN, and the company wanted to reduce branch hardware and power use in line with its Green IT goals.

Equinox deployed Citrix Branch Repeater with Windows Server at its branch offices and Citrix Repeater in the datacentre, consolidating server, networking and WAN‑optimisation functions onto a single appliance. The result was significantly improved application performance, faster branch provisioning, lower installation and support costs (including a $50,000 data‑cost saving at one site in a year and more than 25% lower upfront costs), reduced power consumption and simpler centralized management.
