Energy company delivers a strategic mobile workforce solution with Citrix XenMobile and Citrix ShareFile

Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities (LG&E and KU) are regulated utilities serving customers across Kentucky and parts of Virginia with a largely field-based workforce (60–70% in the field). They needed a secure enterprise file-sync-and-share service that would provide mobile access to SharePoint and network drives, support real-time data and damage reporting, and integrate with their existing XenMobile MDM deployment.

LG&E and KU upgraded to XenMobile Enterprise with Citrix ShareFile, enabling secure mobile access, single sign-on, SharePoint/network drive connectors, and in‑field collaboration (photo-based damage reporting, PDF signing, and work-order creation). The rollout cut VPN and laptop dependency, improved response times and workflows, reduced IT support needs, and met strict compliance requirements—driving broader adoption and plans to expand ShareFile usage.
