Empire Education Group (EEG), a leading U.S. cosmetology school system with 100+ schools and ~15,000 students, needed to centralize and secure files and more than 200 applications after merging with Regis’s 51 branches. Their legacy Citrix CAG, MPX 7000s and Barracuda load balancers lacked modern layer‑7 load balancing, application firewalling, SSL offload and caching required to protect and accelerate SharePoint, Exchange, XenApp, web apps and APIs.

EEG deployed Citrix NetScaler MPX 11500 in high‑availability, leveraging AppExpert templates, AppFirewall, AppCache and SSL offload/re‑encryption to optimize and secure application delivery. The solution boosted application performance, consolidated branch services into a single datacenter (improving security and avoiding bandwidth upgrades), and provided scalable capacity for growth; EEG is also testing HDX Insight and NetScaler DataStream for added visibility and SQL load balancing.
