Ebab saves thousands with secure, remote access to specialised apps

Ebab, a Swedish construction consultancy with about 250 employees working from headquarters and more than 20 temporary project sites, struggled to provide secure access to specialised apps (including 3D modelling) while managing costly leased laptops, dedicated data lines and frequent theft of devices. When its IT services contract ended, the company needed a more secure, flexible and economical way for staff to work remotely from cabins, sites and conference rooms.

Working with Citrix Service Provider Wycore AB, Ebab implemented Citrix NetScaler, XenApp/XenDesktop and Citrix Receiver with thin clients and BYOD access to a central data centre. The change cut hardware and leased-line costs by over SEK 1 million (~$116,500) per year, reduced theft and lost-data risk, improved system availability and boosted employee productivity by enabling secure, full-featured remote access from any device.
