Directi is a rapidly growing web-product company (founded 1998) with 800+ employees and over 1 million customers that develops communication, collaboration and monetisation platforms. Its legacy estate of 70–80 rack and tower servers could not keep up with fast hiring and heavy testing demands, leading to spiralling maintenance, power and operational costs—prompting the company to look for a virtualization solution.

Directi implemented Citrix XenServer 6.0 (chosen for functionality and cost-effectiveness) to consolidate workloads onto five hosts running Active Directory, MySQL, Apache and Java apps. The rollout delivered live snapshots for easy backups, dramatically reduced power and maintenance costs through server consolidation, improved network throughput and faster deployments, and freed IT staff to focus on core business initiatives.
