Case Study: Genpact achieves stronger information security and seamless business continuity with Citrix XenDesktop

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Genpact Case Study

Desktop virtualization enhances information security and compliance at Genpact

Genpact, a global business services firm, needed to modernize its desktop infrastructure to address client concerns about data loss, unauthorized software and insecure laptops. Users were storing sensitive data on local PCs, shared business-continuity (BCP) seats were costly or incompatible, and strict client policies prevented laptop use, limiting mobility and seat utilization across clients.

Genpact implemented Citrix XenDesktop with Citrix Consulting and layered in its own tools—Housekeeper for compliance, DynoDesk to decouple physical seats from client networks, and diskless MobileDesk laptops—to centralize OS and data, enforce a read-only golden image, and prevent unauthorized files. The result: standardized, centrally patched desktops with 100% timely antivirus/patch updates and near-zero governance defects, improved BCP mobility, higher seat utilization and significant cost savings (BCP costs cut roughly in half); the solution is in production for 1,000 users with plans to scale further and offer it as a pay-per-use service.
