A Citrix Case Study
Czech Insurance Company is the largest universal insurer in the Czech Republic, with about 3,900 employees, 6,000 sales representatives and over 9 million contracts (roughly 40% of the market). Its size and mobile workforce created intense demands for high IT reliability and availability (target SLA 99.99%) while reducing total cost of ownership and simplifying management of thousands of PCs and remote users.
The company piloted and deployed desktop and application virtualization with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop (Platinum) via ORBIT, centralizing applications in data centers and replacing traditional desktops with thin clients. The solution enabled remote administration, faster recovery, lower energy and support costs, an ROI under three years and projected savings of hundreds of millions CZK over five years, while boosting service availability, increasing sales time by up to 2% and improving customer satisfaction by about 5 points.
