Crawford Central School District puts pupils at the center of learning with Citrix Workspace

Crawford Central School District, serving about 3,700 students across 10 buildings, needed to extend digital learning beyond the classroom and reduce the overhead of managing on‑site infrastructure. With a goal of moving to a one‑device‑per‑student program for grades 7–12 and delivering high‑performance applications to mixed Windows and Apple devices, IT needed a flexible, easy‑to‑manage cloud solution that could virtualize apps and scale without continual hardware investment.

The district deployed Citrix Workspace (Citrix ADC VPX, Content Collaboration, and Virtual Apps and Desktops) on Microsoft Azure, enabling secure, device‑agnostic access to apps like CAD, Adobe, Office and Visual Studio. The result: smoother app performance on modest hardware, a single portal for students, stronger security and file collaboration, fewer support demands (only one additional technician), summer server shutdowns for cost savings, and more classroom time spent on learning.
