Computacenter secures mobile workspaces

Computacenter, a leading independent IT infrastructure services provider with 14,000 employees across Europe, South Africa and Asia, needed to become more agile and support anytime/anywhere working while preserving strict data security for its Managed Services clients. The company wanted to move from device-dependent processes to a functionally led mobile workspace, but was concerned about insecure smartphones and tablets, unencrypted data and risks from native email apps.

Computacenter deployed a Citrix mobile workspace stack (XenMobile, ShareFile, XenDesktop, XenApp and NetScaler), piloting Enterprise Mobile Management with 1,000 field sales staff to deliver secure app access, device management and encrypted file sync. The solution created a secure “bubble” on devices, enabling real-time CRM updates, faster customer approvals, stronger engagement, reduced manual IS tasks and anticipated cost savings, with plans to expand to 5,000 users.
