Case Study: Combis achieves scalable, affordable public‑cloud virtual desktops for T‑HT with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Combis Case Study

Combis develops desktop virtualization solution for Croatian telecom provider

Combis, together with Croatia’s leading telecom T-Hrvatski Telekom, developed a public-cloud virtual desktop service to help T‑HT maintain market leadership and deliver affordable ICT services to small and medium businesses. Faced with strong competition, T‑HT required a solution with broad device and OS compatibility, support for low-bandwidth networks and peripherals, simple user experience, OSS/BSS integration and real‑time charging.

Combis’ ComCloud blends Citrix XenDesktop/XenServer/NetScaler with NetApp, Cisco and custom automated provisioning and portal components to deliver scalable, device‑independent Desktops-as-a-Service. The platform supports 7,000 users (easily expandable to 17,000), provides encrypted, bandwidth-optimized access (including over 3G), reduces capital and operating costs versus traditional setups, enables instant provisioning and is positioned for expanded services and regional wholesale offerings.
