A Citrix Case Study
Cocamar Cooperativa Agroindustrial is a major Brazilian agricultural co-op (founded 1963) with 6,700 members, a network of warehouses across 30 districts and R$1.1 billion in billings in 2007. Rapidly growing harvests strained logistics: intermittent network and PC failures caused unscheduled application downtime, long truck queues at warehouses, frustrated growers and reduced productivity, while the IT team spent 70% of its time on operational support.
To address this, Cocamar deployed Citrix XenApp Platinum Edition and Citrix Access Gateway to virtualize and securely deliver applications to about 1,000 users across thin clients, PCs and mobile devices. The result was effectively zero application downtime, faster throughput (more trips per truck), greater mobility and security for field staff, and a shift of IT effort back to business initiatives—improving productivity and earning a Citrix Innovation Award.
