A Citrix Case Study
CNA Modena, a regional association supporting craft and SME clients across Modena with 50 subsidiaries, 650 employees and about 800 workstations serving 13,000 customers, was struggling with rising IT complexity and costs. The need for fast, flexible smart-working became urgent after the 2012 Emilia‑Romagna earthquake, when many offices moved to temporary locations and existing infrastructure proved costly and hard to scale.
Partnering with NETMIND, CNA Modena implemented Citrix XenDesktop and cloud-based services, replacing traditional PCs with thin clients, virtualising telephony and Skype for Business videoconferencing, and moving toward cellular connectivity. The changes enabled mobile access to users’ desktops and phone numbers, simplified remote support, and reduced hardware and maintenance costs—delivering about €200,000 in annual savings and greater operational flexibility.
