Cliantha Research, a global contract research organization with four offices in India, relied on a core business application hosted across two datacentres in Ahmedabad and Vadodara. When a datacentre went down, IT had to manually reroute users—an error-prone, time-consuming process that disrupted access and required network reconfiguration. The company needed automatic, transparent failover and cross-DC routing to keep users connected without intervention.

Cliantha deployed Citrix ADC for server load balancing, SSL offload and HTTP compression. Since implementation, failover is automatic and invisible to users (no URL changes or ISP action), SSL processing is handled in hardware for faster response and improved security, and compression has reduced content delivery time by up to 5x—resulting in seamless access and significantly better application performance.
