Case Study: Clark Builders achieves rapid field-site agility and centralized secure access with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Clark Builders brings virtualization to the Arctic Circle Great White North

Clark Builders, founded in 1974 in Yellowknife and now with offices in Edmonton and Calgary, is an employee‑owned Canadian construction firm that runs up to 60 concurrent project sites across remote regions. Rapid growth exposed an outdated IT infrastructure: dispersed data, slow site provisioning, intermittent connectivity in isolated locations and security risks that hampered agility and collaboration.

Working with Long View Systems, Clark implemented an end‑to‑end Citrix virtualization platform (XenApp with a XenDesktop pilot, Access Gateway, Branch Repeater and Profile Manager) to centralize apps and data in a single datacenter. The solution enabled new sites to be provisioned in hours, provided secure anytime/anywhere access to Office, SharePoint and legacy apps, reduced on‑site IT support and data loss risk, improved operational efficiency and delivered ongoing cost savings and plans for wider desktop virtualization and BYOC.
