City of Loviisa mobilizes medics with Citrix Cloud services

The City of Loviisa in Finland needed to give outsourced doctors secure, remote access to its legacy Pegasos healthcare system and confidential patient records before a new contract began. The client‑server application was sensitive to latency and the city required a fast, secure solution that could be deployed within months.

Working with partner Onrego, Loviisa deployed a hybrid environment using Citrix Cloud and the city data center, virtualizing Pegasos with Citrix Virtual Apps and providing access via the Citrix Workspace app. Doctors can now securely access patient notes from any device with no latency or configuration issues, dictation and workflows run smoothly, and the city gains scalable, easier‑to‑manage infrastructure it can extend to other departments.
