Citrix XenDesktop Offers Lower Provisioning Time, More Security to IGATE

IGATE, a global technology and operations services firm with over 31,000 employees, was hampered by long desktop provisioning times and a one-size-fits-all traditional desktop model that couldn’t meet project-specific requirements across its multiple global sites. The slow, standardized environment reduced efficiency and made secure, customized delivery of desktops difficult.

IGATE implemented Citrix XenDesktop in a phased rollout, migrating 3,000 users across BPO, training, projects and shared services within a year. The VDI deployment cut provisioning time, improved productivity, strengthened security by centralizing desktops in the datacenter, enabled mobility and customized environments per use case, simplified management, and supported greener thin-client usage — with plans to expand to 8,000 users and pursue business continuity initiatives.
