Citrix Technologies Fuel Productivity at Indiana University

Indiana University, a leading higher-education system spanning seven campuses and online programs with over 100,000 students and 20,000 staff, faced mounting costs and complexity maintaining up-to-date educational software across campus labs and student devices. Hundreds of aging desktops couldn’t run modern applications, and the traditional approach lacked the agility to support BYOD and evolving instructional needs.

The university deployed Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops across more than 300 servers for over 70,000 users, using NetScaler for secure access, Windows Server images to publish apps, and Citrix Workspace Environment Management and UPM to speed logons and optimize sessions. Students, faculty and staff now connect from any device in minutes, peripherals are supported seamlessly, old desktops serve as thin clients, and the solution delivered significant cost savings, scalability and cloud readiness.
