A Citrix Case Study
The Municipality of Berkelland, a Dutch local government serving about 45,000 residents, needed to consolidate multiple locations into a single new building while introducing flexible “new ways of working” and BYOD. With no personal offices and aging hardware, IT had to deliver fully interchangeable, secure workstations that could support special applications and mobile/home users.
PQR redesigned the infrastructure using NetApp SANs, HP servers, Citrix XenDesktop and NetScaler, Dell thin clients, App‑V packaging and single‑image provisioning with RES Workspace Manager. The result is a high‑availability, VPN‑secured virtual desktop environment that runs demanding apps, simplifies administration with one image, enables secure mobile and home working, supports BYOD, and delivers higher quality and productivity with a smaller IT team.
