Citrix Cloud services help Kaukokiito do more with less

Suomen Kaukokiito Oy, Finland’s leading private transport company with 40 locations, 1,000 vehicles and 2,000 staff delivering 3.5 million packages a year, needed a more agile way to run its ERP and finance systems despite a very small IT team. Its legacy finance application — built in the 1980s and highly sensitive to latency — made a cloud move challenging, but the company wanted to simplify management, improve reliability and free up IT resources for strategic work.

Working with partner Onrego, Kaukokiito moved core applications to Citrix Virtual Apps via Citrix Cloud, virtualizing ERP and finance systems so servers stay current, secure and centrally managed. The change cut deployment time dramatically (a new Citrix farm in a day versus weeks/months), reduced latency and security risk, and gave IT time to focus on development and business needs; the company is now piloting Citrix SD‑WAN to lower bandwidth costs and improve network resilience.
