Citrix AppDNA simplifies application migration and management

DEVK Group, a major German insurance provider, faced a large infrastructure project to migrate more than 300 applications to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and to virtualize many workloads. The discovery and compatibility testing process was extremely manual, slow, and incomplete, creating risk for the migration and for ongoing application management.

Working with Sepago, DEVK implemented Citrix AppDNA to automate in-depth compatibility and virtualization analysis, importing about 400 installation packages for rapid assessment. AppDNA produced clear, color-coded compatibility reports that cut manual testing, identified roughly 50 apps needing modification (about 20 requiring deeper analysis), informed VDI decisions, and enabled faster, risk-aware project planning and ongoing quality assurance.
