CAAF Northeast improves services to users with Citrix desktop virtualization

CAAF Northeast is a regional Italian tax-assistance agency serving about 800,000 citizens through 12 affiliated companies and roughly 400 local offices. Facing fragmented IT spread across more than 10 provincial sites, the agency needed to centralize application delivery, improve availability and security, reduce management and maintenance costs, and scale more efficiently.

Working with Infonet Solutions, CAAF implemented Citrix (XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, Access Gateway) to centralize desktops and apps on six physical servers running 110 virtual machines across two data centers, serving 1,000 users. The result: roughly 50% faster activation/maintenance/recovery, one‑hour upgrades for all clients, higher uptime and security, lower operating costs, simplified IT management, and a secure private cloud accessible from PCs or thin clients.
