Case Study: Busy Bees achieves flexible, secure remote working and major cost savings with Citrix

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Busy Bees Case Study

Busy Bees work flexibly as business booms

Busy Bees, the UK's largest childcare nursery provider with over 200 nurseries, faced growing IT strain after rapid expansion. IT Manager Paul Creaser and a six‑person team supported 1,000 PCs across 226 sites and more than 35 physical servers, driving high space, cooling and management costs while needing a scalable, familiar and flexible system to support mobile and family‑friendly working.

Working with Total Computers, Busy Bees moved to Citrix XenApp 6.5 for virtual desktops, XenServer for server virtualization and NetScaler for secure remote access. The change cut physical servers from 35 to six, lowered running costs, improved resilience and reduced support calls, while giving staff a consistent, secure desktop anywhere — enabling far greater desktop scale with only a modest staff increase.
