Buskerud County found simpler administration; fewer web servers, with Citrix Netscaler

Buskerud County, responsible for public services across a wide region of Norway, needed a more secure and flexible way to deliver applications to 2,500 employees while protecting sensitive information in a two-zone IT environment. The county had been using Citrix software for years and wanted to replace its previous Access Gateway setup with a solution that would improve security, support cloud-based services, and make better use of its budget.

Citrix implemented Citrix NetScaler to secure and manage all traffic in and out of the network, improve zoning, and support application delivery. The result was simpler administration, fewer web servers, stronger security, and better user experience; SSL offloading on web servers dropped by 70 percent, and the county now has greater visibility into network traffic and less downtime during maintenance.
