Birlasoft Addresses Mobile Security Concerns with Citrix XenMobile

Birlasoft, a global IT services company and part of the CK Birla Group with over 4,000 employees, faced a rapid increase in employee‑owned mobile devices accessing corporate email. The Information Infrastructure Support team needed a scalable Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution to enforce authentication, encryption, remote wipe and other security controls across diverse device types and operating systems while remaining compatible with their Exchange 2007 environment and existing BlackBerry BESX deployment.

After evaluating several vendors, Birlasoft implemented Citrix XenMobile in the cloud in a two‑phase rollout—migrating company BlackBerrys to an in‑house BESX and then enrolling employee devices by region. By December 2013 about 250 devices were managed, delivering full visibility and control over mobile security, reducing the risk of data loss, simplifying administration, cutting IT mitigation time, and laying the groundwork for BYOD and future Citrix solutions.
