Bank TRUST introduces a single system of virtual desktops

Bank "TRUST" is one of Russia’s largest retail and corporate banks with 278 offices across 170 cities. Facing a highly decentralized IT landscape that made data‑center coordination, software updates and branch support difficult, the bank needed a unified environment to centrally manage desktops, automate upgrades, tighten network security, standardize user workspaces and reduce infrastructure and administration costs.

Trust implemented a phased VDI rollout using Citrix XenDesktop (building on existing XenApp use) and deployed Citrix NetScaler for secure, highly available remote access. The result was centralized delivery of identical virtual desktops and applications from Moscow, lower server and storage requirements, reduced administration and maintenance costs, hardware independence for users, and an in‑house created universal service mechanism for the branch network.
