Automotive manufacturer relies on Citrix to manage thousands of mobile devices

Renault, the global French automaker operating in 128 countries, faced a major mobile-management challenge as employees moved from company-issued BlackBerrys to a wide variety of personal iOS and Android devices. The company needed a secure BYOD strategy that met different countries’ legal requirements, separated personal and corporate data, and extended beyond email to messaging, file access and business apps without risking data breaches.

Renault deployed Citrix XenMobile alongside its MDM solution to containerize corporate apps and data, enable remote wipe of company information, and apply country-specific policies (for example, photo handling in Brazil). The move improved user experience and security, gave IT full control over corporate assets while preserving personal data, and opened new opportunities for internal and public app access and global employee collaboration.
