Apply Capnor Poland uses Citrix technology to work on advanced 3D projects

Apply Capnor Poland, an engineering firm working on advanced 3D projects, reorganized in 2013 and needed an IT infrastructure that could handle very large image files, high compute requirements and easy sharing to support current projects and future growth. The challenge was to support many specialized graphics applications and versions across engineers while enabling secure, efficient collaboration and scalability for new business models.

The company implemented Citrix solutions — XenDesktop (FlexCast), XenMobile, ShareFile and NetScaler VPX — virtualizing about 15 professional graphics applications (with ~50 application/version variants) and centrally storing roughly 278 TB across 600 ShareFile accounts. Centralized app delivery simplified management and updates, improved security, and provided failover continuity via two application servers; it also enabled a new Apply2B outsourcing service (including mobile device management) and a roadmap to scale to ~1,000 users and phase out new PC purchases.
