Case Study: Dallas County achieves secure, anywhere, any-device data access with Citrix ShareFile

A Citrix Case Study

Preview of the Dallas County Case Study

Agencies mobilize data to serve a fast-growing county with Citrix ShareFile

Dallas County, Iowa—one of the fastest-growing counties in the U.S., serving nearly 75,000 residents across 600 square miles—needed a way for assessors, attorneys, nurses, police and other officials to access and share large files from any device while maintaining strict security and regulatory control. Rapid population growth and dispersed offices made secure, mobile access and inter-agency collaboration essential, but existing tools couldn’t reliably handle large multimedia files or protect sensitive records outside the datacenter.

The county deployed Citrix ShareFile Enterprise on NetApp storage to provide centrally managed, encrypted file access from any device, an Outlook plug-in for sending large files, and StorageZone Connectors for secure cross-office viewing and editing. The on-premises solution reclaimed up to 70% of storage through deduplication, enabled easy large-file uploads from the field, improved staff productivity and mobility, and kept constituent records protected while supporting faster, more efficient public services.
