A Citrix Case Study
Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) manages the emirate’s rapid urban growth and coordinates services across local and federal entities, but the pace of change meant staff could no longer be tied to desks. With hundreds of Windows-based applications and a growing mobile workforce—especially 400+ field inspectors—ADM needed a secure, centrally manageable way to give employees access to core systems from anywhere in the city.
ADM deployed Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to publish applications and virtual desktops to tablets and thin clients, enabling inspectors and office staff to work remotely, use hot desks, and access shared peripherals. The rollout improved productivity, extended hardware refresh cycles (from three to five years), reduced travel time, strengthened data security and disaster recovery, and supported ADM’s Zayed Smart City initiative—delivered in under a year.
