Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), a leading UAE full-service bank with over 5,000 employees and AED 228 billion in assets, needed to modernize an ageing IT estate to support a more mobile workforce. Key challenges included giving staff secure access to apps and data from personal devices, reducing IT travel and endpoint administration, and strengthening data protection and compliance while enabling a BYOD policy.

ADCB deployed a Citrix virtual desktop solution—XenDesktop and XenApp with NetScaler and thin clients—centralizing desktops and apps in the data center. The rollout enabled secure, any‑device access for ~5,000 users, faster provisioning (new users in minutes), reduced on‑site support, stronger centralized security controls, and improved productivity under BYOD, with plans to expand users and pilot XenMobile for enhanced device management.
