Standard Bank of South Africa - Customer Case Study

Standard Bank of South Africa, the largest South African banking group by assets and earnings, needed a way to consistently assess the criticality and risk of its business-critical systems and ensure strong information security practices across its installations. The bank turned to Citicus and its Citicus ONE risk and compliance management software to help manage these operational risk and compliance challenges.

Citicus implemented Citicus ONE to evaluate the risk posed by business-critical systems and track incidents affecting them, with the solution used on 500 systems and around 1,000 evaluations completed by the end of 2009. The platform helped Standard Bank identify important business applications, apply appropriate protection levels, and standardize security practices, and the bank is now exploring extending Citicus ONE to meet AMA requirements.
