Case Study: Harvard Graduate School of Design transforms its ecommerce website with Cite

A Cite Case Study

Harvard Graduate School of Design launches first ecommerce site in SiteBuilder with Cite

The Harvard Graduate School of Design needed to transform its outdated digital publication platform, Harvard Design Magazine. The challenge was to migrate and optimize the ecommerce website from an old, non-functional platform while preserving all existing content, requiring a complex blend of technical migration and user experience overhaul. The school partnered with vendor Cite to accomplish this using WordPress and WooCommerce.

Cite's solution involved fully customizing a site within the school's bespoke WordPress 'SiteBuilder' for the first time, implementing an improved design with AA accessibility standards, refining search and UX, and integrating with Harvard's payment and fulfilment systems. The vendor successfully migrated all content and functionality, resulting in a fully operational, accessible ecommerce site. As a direct result of this successful collaboration, Cite was commissioned for a second project with another Harvard school.
