A Cision Case Study
Harmony Marketing, a Toronto-based full-service agency, managed promotion for the Redpath Waterfront Festival, which featured a 61-foot “giant rubber duck.” Early press took comments about government funding out of context and sparked a viral wave of critical coverage, forcing the team to control the narrative while continuing to promote the event.
Harmony used Cision’s Canada Newswire distribution and multimedia targeting to push follow-up releases, correct facts, and monitor coverage; their releases earned over 21,000 views, 59,000 multimedia views, and reached a potential audience of 87 million. The festival generated more than 310 million impressions (a 151% increase year-over-year), with 71% from earned media, drove record attendance, and attracted significant non-local tourism.
