Zürcher Höhenkliniken Wald und Davos - Customer Case Study

Zürcher Höhenkliniken Wald und Davos, a rehabilitation clinic serving about 5,000 patients annually across Wald and Davos, faced an aging, controller-based wireless network that struggled to support WiFi-reliant treatment machines and growing demand for reliable guest and staff access. To modernize and simplify management, Director of IT Andreas Nebel chose cloud-managed Cisco Meraki access points to replace the legacy system.

Cisco Meraki deployed over 150 access points across the two locations (rollout in three months), configured multiple SSIDs with RADIUS and other authentication methods, and applied custom Layer 3 firewall and Layer 7 bandwidth rules. The Meraki solution eliminated the need for a separate wireless system for medical telemetry, centralized management for a single admin, improved employee and guest connectivity, and delivered automatic firmware updates and proactive monitoring—providing a future-proof network with measurable reductions in management overhead and better service coverage.
