A Cisco Meraki Case Study
Concentric AB, a global pump manufacturer with sites across Europe, the Americas and Asia, needed to redesign its network after demerging from Haldex AB. With typically one IT person per site, the company faced costly MPLS/VPN links or fragile bridge devices, no visibility into site traffic, and dependence on a single CCNA engineer for troubleshooting. Concentric piloted Cisco Meraki MX64 appliances (and later MX100 and MR32 devices) to evaluate an alternate, centrally managed approach.
Cisco Meraki was rolled out globally — MR32 access points, MX64/MX100 security appliances, Auto VPN, UTM features and a cloud dashboard — enabling remote configuration, automatic site-to-site VPN, failover and deep per-client visibility. The result: significantly faster and more reliable site-to-site transfers, unified visibility that exposed high-bandwidth clients, included Client VPN at no extra per-user cost, rapid outage recovery (one-hour remediation versus multi-hour provider delays), and broad wireless deployment where none existed.
