Case Study: Study Group achieves global network visibility and simplified cloud management with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Study Group Case Study

Uncovering more visibility and network analytics to better serve students worldwide

Study Group, a global education company operating 43 schools and 78 offices, faced limited network visibility and burdensome manual, on-site configurations while supporting students, faculty, and corporate users worldwide. They selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud-managed wireless and networking solutions (starting with MR access points and the Meraki dashboard) to address constrained IT resources and the need for centralized control.

Cisco Meraki deployed a full-stack solution—initially 598 MR access points and later 44 MX security appliances and 45 MS switches (plus an additional 50 APs, 20 switches, and 1 MX for new sites)—enabling remote management, AD-integrated secure access, cloud-configured VPNs, and automated network topology and Layer 7 visibility. The Meraki dashboard gave real-time analytics (e.g., identifying 800 iOS and 200 Android devices during an app push), faster troubleshooting, improved bandwidth for faculty and students, and measurable cost savings by avoiding headcount increases while improving global network uptime and operational efficiency.
