A Cisco Meraki Case Study
Tri-Creek School Corporation needed a reliable, scalable wireless network to support a district-wide move to a 1:1 student device program and WiFi across its five schools and various facilities. Director of Information and Education Technology Jay Blackman evaluated several vendors and selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud-managed solution (access points and dashboard) to replace the legacy 802.11b/g network that lacked the coverage, capacity and easy management the district required.
Cisco Meraki deployed 170 Meraki access points rapidly (a two-person team installed each AP in minutes) and enabled cloud-based management via the Meraki dashboard. The new network supported up to twice as many clients as other vendors in testing, reliably streamed HD video from 30 laptops even with an AP unplugged, and immediately enabled Tri-Creek’s 1:1 and BYOD programs; administrators also gained real-time visibility into devices, applications and bandwidth, simplifying troubleshooting and scaling.
