A Cisco Meraki Case Study
The HALO Trust, a British charity that clears landmines and explosive remnants of conflict across more than 30 permanent and many temporary sites, needed secure, reliable multi‑site connectivity on a limited budget and with a very small IT team. Head of ICT Luan Jaupi chose Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑managed solution—deploying Meraki 802.11ac Wave 2 access points and mid‑sized UTM/security appliances—to centralize management, improve security and reduce the hands‑on maintenance burden.
Cisco Meraki provided a cloud dashboard, site‑to‑site VPN, next‑generation firewalls, intrusion prevention, content filtering and automatic firmware/security updates, with configurations clonable via templates. The Meraki deployment went live in about 3–4 hours, delivered noticeably higher throughput and positive end‑user feedback, enabled 15 isolated guest SSIDs, and let the tiny IT team manage global sites from one console—giving HALO proactive, real‑time security and simpler scaling as they roll Meraki out to more locations.
