A Cisco Meraki Case Study
Teraoka Seiko, a Tokyo-based manufacturer of scales, POS systems and automation solutions, needed a way to centrally manage wireless across its global sites after finding traditional on‑premise WiFi controllers costly and a single point of failure. IT Director Takahito Natsubori evaluated cloud options and selected the Cisco Meraki cloud‑managed solution — using Meraki access points and the Meraki dashboard — to get centralized visibility and simpler management.
Cisco Meraki deployed an initial 100 APs (followed by 70 more) alongside Meraki MS switches, MX security appliances and Systems Manager MDM, enabling preconfiguration, plug‑and‑play installs and Auto VPN site‑to‑site connectivity with just two clicks. The Meraki rollout now manages 2,600 employee iPhones, cut pre‑installation effort to about one‑tenth, eliminated much travel for deployments, and delivered faster troubleshooting and clear network visibility across Teraoka Seiko’s global sites.
