Case Study: Tommy Bahama’s achieves 100-store rapid iPad PoS rollout and centralized network management with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Tommy Bahama's Case Study

Supporting enhanced retail experiences through rapid installation across 100 locations

Tommy Bahama's, a Seattle‑based retailer with over 130 stores and 15 restaurants worldwide, needed a fast, reliable network to support in‑store wireless initiatives like mobile PoS and a nationwide promotion across 100 locations. They selected Cisco Meraki—deploying MR access points, MS switches, MX security appliances and Systems Manager—for centralized, PCI‑compliant management and rapid remote troubleshooting.

Cisco Meraki rolled out MR access points in more than 100 stores and restaurants, applied Layer 3/7 firewall rules and traffic shaping, and used Systems Manager to track and manage 150 iPad profiles. The deployment was completed within a month, supported the iPad sweepstakes promotion (only three problematic devices across 115 sites), is managed by a single engineer from Seattle, delivers reliable guest WiFi with custom splash pages, and has reported minimal management overhead and 100% uptime since deployment.
