Simplifying network operations brings a Belgian city into the cloud era

Stad Menen, a Belgian city with 850 employees, needed to modernize its network operations and move away from a slow, legacy MPLS setup that made connectivity and troubleshooting difficult for its small IT team. After a successful proof of concept in a new public service center, Stad Menen chose Cisco Meraki cloud-managed firewall, switches, access points, and SD-WAN to simplify management and improve access to cloud-based digital services.

Cisco Meraki helped Stad Menen create a secure, cloud-managed network with local internet breakout, better bandwidth, and easier remote administration across its locations. The city reported a 50% drop in network issues, nearly half the time spent on troubleshooting, setup, and installation, and more than a 50% reduction in on-site travel for networking problems, while also improving security visibility and user connectivity.
