A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Clarks Case Study

Simplifying IT operations while reducing network maintenance and facilities costs

Clarks, the long-established global footwear retailer based in Somerset, UK, faced slow network performance and increasingly labor‑intensive, costly maintenance of legacy switches across corporate offices and hundreds of stores. To modernize and simplify operations, Clarks selected Cisco Meraki and its cloud‑managed portfolio — including Meraki MS switches, Meraki MX SD‑WAN appliances, Meraki MT sensors and Meraki MV smart cameras — to improve speed, manageability and security.

Cisco Meraki deployed template-driven MS switches and MX gateways, plus MT sensors and MV cameras for remote monitoring and facilities automation, enabling rapid rollouts and automated updates. The deployment covers Meraki switches at 29 corporate locations and 180 retail stores and Meraki MX appliances in 330 outlets, delivering a 97% reduction in switch update time (from about 36 hours to under an hour) and a 3% reduction in IT facilities energy use, cutting maintenance overhead and supporting Clarks’ sustainability goals.
