A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the British School of Bucharest Case Study

Seamlessly integrated 21st century technology and tools for a K-12 program

The British School of Bucharest, an international school serving 500 students aged 2–18 in the Bucharest metro area, needed a highly reliable, scalable wireless solution to support classroom mobile devices, high-density campus events, and a fast-growing student population with a small IT team. After evaluating options, the school selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud-managed wireless and Enterprise Mobility Management solution to deliver centralized control, automated updates, and visibility across the network.

Cisco Meraki deployed 16 indoor and 2 outdoor Meraki access points (plug-and-play MR series), the Meraki dashboard, Air Marshal wireless intrusion prevention, and Meraki EMM to manage hundreds of devices. The rollout was fast (APs downloaded configs and were online within 5 minutes; initial setup took about an hour and full testing one day; adding devices takes roughly 10 minutes), and the school now centrally manages ~700 institution-owned devices, enforces VLAN/SSID policies, receives automated alerts and updates, and reports dramatic improvements in administration, scalability, and campus-wide WiFi reliability.
