A Cisco Meraki Case Study
MacArtney Underwater Technology, a Danish specialist in custom underwater solutions, operates 17 offices in 11 countries and supports 450 employees. Their lean, three-person IT team struggled with a complex, multi-vendor network that was hard to troubleshoot and secure, so they chose Cisco Meraki cloud-managed products—including MX security appliances, MS225 switches, MR33 access points and guest Wi‑Fi/branch networking solutions—to simplify and modernize their infrastructure.
Cisco Meraki implemented plug-and-play, pre-configurable devices with mesh VPN routing, Security Center threat detection, remote cable testing and SMS guest access via Twilio, plus Z1-enabled site-to-site VPNs for suppliers. The outcome is a more secure, stable and self‑healing network that the small IT team can manage across 17 sites and 11 countries (supporting 450 users), significantly reducing on-site work and saving time and resources—evidenced by routine remote changes such as a firewall reconfiguration done in half a lunch break—and plans to add Meraki MV cameras for unified video management.
